I think it will play out exactly like it does for every other school, including now at LSU. They will all compete, they will make each other better, become good buddies, learn under a great offensive coordinator/ QB coach and one of them will eventually play. I’m not discounting Rickie Collins either.

That guy has tremendously improved and it will be very hard for both guys to beat him out for playing time. Collins can start his 3rd season at LSU when one is a true freshman and the other is a RS freshman.

Nuss will be gone and Collins will have a huge leg up on both guys. That’s why we picked up another QB to compete with Collins as a back up and starter when those times come. Both will still be freshman at that point. It’s a long way away from either starting at LSU. I love our current QB recruiting. Our staff knows exactly what we need to stay competitive at that position.

Collins will be a very good QB folks! It looks like he will have an extremely talented offense to work with as well. From OL all the way down to TE. We have a solid future offense.

Underwood and Hurley are going to be the next wave and my hope is that the defensive talent will have time to catch up when they are ready to take over the offense. I think that’s when LSU will be a powerhouse and regularly in the top 5 and the playoffs.

I think next year will be the launching point to that era of LSU football but we might have to battle it out the next two seasons to get there. We’ll be good but not where we all want to be.
