I don't think this is a good way to analyze recruiting/nati relationship.

The correct way would be to take the average class ranking of the previous 3 or 4 years of each national championship team.

LSU 2019 average class of previous 3 or 4 years was likely 5th ranked I'd guess. That'd be a much more precise way to measure recruiting rank vs on field success relationship.

Stating what states are top for recruiting isn't precise. Bama and Clemson recruit majority of players from out of state. A lot of top California kids do not go to USC. It's far too indirect to say states with best recruits have schools that win nati's. It's much more direct to say schools with best recruits win more nati's regardless of where the kids come from because that's how it works in reality.
