You sound like you want to be a peacemaker, especially since there are kids. This type of behavior is bad, though. I don't know of any circumstances where it got better unless it was confronted, rather strongly.

That kind of disrespect is a huge red flag. It's a true deal breaker in a relationship.

She's disrespected you and if you give her a pass she'll just lose more respect for you and it'll get worse. If this is the only time in decades of a relationship, then ok, give her a pass. Everyone has a bad day. But that doesn't seem to be the case.

I know it's easy for me to type on a keyboard, but I do recommend you confront this and fix it. If the marriage deteriorates, it's not just you that will suffer. Kids do as well. Hope things turn out well.
