Don’t think it’s jobs, it’s spending. Us prosperity was from 200 years of population boom and the resulting spending. Taxes front run federal spending, and infrastructure. Hard to do with a birth rate R0<1. I think both sides know this but can’t say it out loud. I’ve been thinking this for a while, and haven’t heard any economist say it. It just seems if it was really detrimental it would be stopped.
