He was consistently good to great for many years, but that doesn’t change the fact that something’s not been right with him for the last four. He had some big misses and reaches those last two years here that lead to a lack of quality depth. He also didn’t recruit particularly well at UF.
Raymond would be an improvement over what we had and maybe the complacency will be a thing of the past if he returns humbled after two years away. Hopefully. It would just really suck if he came back and it didn’t work out. That would be a mess.
Personally, I would still prefer to go younger with a guy like Jackson who could have a long run here as a DB coach, similar to Raymond years ago. But if Raymond is the hire, I won’t bitch about it further.
