Why do people smoke cigarettes or vape
Because most smokers or vapers start when they're teenagers, before their brains are fully developed, and, the thought of any consequences are easily dismissed because they seem so far down the road.

The majority of adults are overweight or obese, medicated, and getting fatter and unhealthier every day. Most of them were at a manageable weight, at least until early adulthood, and gained weight (and continue to gain weight) after their brains know better. And fatties dwarf smokers/vapers in pure numbers.

Indeed.

Smoking has got to be one of the worse.
Yep, but overeating and sloth are at least as bad, and, as they're far more prevalent, I'd argue that they're worse. You're not paying out the arse for insurance because of vapers or even smokers. You're paying for grown arse fatties that know better.

And, statistically, you're probably one of them.

People smoke cigarettes or vape for a multitude of reasons. Some may start due to peer pressure, stress relief, or as a way to cope with emotions. Additionally, nicotine addiction can play a significant role, making it difficult for individuals to quit even if they're aware of the health risks. It's essential to recognize that quitting smoking or vaping is a complex process that often requires support and resources.Interestingly, the first E-Cigarette was developed in 2003 by Chinese pharmacist Hon Lik as an alternative to traditional smoking. This invention aimed to provide smokers with a less harmful way to satisfy their nicotine cravings.
