I get what the OP is saying, but I'd pump the brakes a bit on this. Washington won last night because Penix and his WRs looked phenomenal, his O Line was good, and their defense made some nice plays (ie they weren't the worst defense in football, like say LSU).

But that should have been a comfortable 20 point win, and he almost completely pissed it away. No reason for some of the gimmicks they did midway through the second half. Just playing straight up, they had basically broken the Horns and were walking away with the game. Instead, they fricking insulted Texas' pride, which was the only way UT would play hard at that point.
Then, with the game under 4 minutes, DeBoer should have shifted gears and ran the clock. Make them burn their TO's and push the game to a 2 possession lead again, and it's over. Instead he fricked around with pass plays that while if they worked would have been good, ended up stopping the clock for Texas.

Then the last possession was again a disaster. He finally decided to run clock... first play was a toss from the shotgun? That's probably the single play most likely to have a fumble occur. He then ran his RB (who, let's remember, ran the ball 21 times for under 50 yds) 2 more times. That's not going to get a 1st down against a Texas team KNOWING you're running. May as well kneel the ball, not risk a fumble (or, you know, an injury), and burn that clock under 20 seconds. Punt and play prevent for 2 plays, game over.

Dude, DeBoer is the real deal. Look at his record. The guy is a genius level coach. His skills in finding and exploiting mismatches in a defense are at least the equal of Kiffin and Sark. DeBoer is a hotter name in the NFL than he is in college football.
