80% on coaches/20% players.

There are PLENTY of teams with equal or worse talent that had much better defenses.

Auburn, for example, has a pretty shitty roster after Harsin and was light years better than we were this season. I think they have comparable talent to us. IF we have their defense, we might have 1 loss.

This is how I feel. When Tulane can hold the same opponent to less points/yards, I don't see how you can say we just straight up don't have the guys to do the same.

Exactly.

The personnel is why this defense wasn't great...or even really good. The abysmal coaching is why they weren't at least average. Which is ALL this team needed them to be with how good the offense was. This wasn't the most talented LSU defense ever. Far from it. But it had equal, if not more, talent than mid-tier major conf. defenses.

This wasn't a "bad" season by any means. But it will ALWAYS go down as a wasted opportunity.

Too hard to tell.

If coaches were teaching and telling the DLine to 'pass block' and 'stay with your guy' (like you're on offense), then coaches.

If coaches were teaching and telling the DBs to 'take one step back' and 'let contact come to you', then coaches again.

Otherwise - players
