With Jk Johnson in the fold next year, will that allow us to move toviano to safety?

I truly think we’re we’re playing toviano out of position. The kid is absolutely a safety he does not have the long speed to play corner but he absolutely has the instincts to be a great safety. Jk Johnson hopefully being next year and Ashton stamps continuing to improve along with zy coming back should allow us to move toviano back to his natural position.

JK struggled at OSU and then struggled in the spring here. Adding in the fact that he missed the entire season, I don’t think he’s some sort of savior for the secondary. He specifically doesn’t change much.

Have to, he’s not a CB much respect to the young guys that had to play

Toviano feet is too slow to play cb. He doesn’t have good short area quickness imo
Stamps doesn’t have great ball skills
We are really fricked at corner next year unless stamps and sage make significant progress in the offseason

The LSU fanbase is putting way too much faith in JK Johnson being a difference maker at CB
CBK needs to bring someone else in

Those young guys were out there battling man and playing with true purple and gold heart despite having one of the worst Dc’s in CFB . I truly hope Kelly upgrades the defensive staff and gives these young tigers a chance to reach their high ceilings

Yea it’s looking tough. Stamps seems to be our best cover guy. Every catch he gave up he was in phase I like his speed and fluidity but he has to get stronger he got outmuscled a couple times down the field hopefully he makes a year 2 jump we are going to need him too.
Agree on toviano just doesn’t have the natural short area burst and long speed you look for in an elite cb.

Sage will never be the answer at CB. However, Toviano may well be a really good safety.

Toviano was recruited as a safety and will play well there. Just having to play out of position.
To the poster say JK Johnson struggled at OSU, I disagree. He was thrust into a starting role due to injury and held his own. He was picked on some, but if you watch the tape, he has the necessary athleticism to play the position well.
I think he'll be a decent starting CB for us, which is something we didn't have this year.

I’ll be glad when our CB room is good enough that we don’t have to count on Ohio State’s third string backups to come in and save us.
