Republicans were led down the primrose pass by their rightful disgust with the sleaze of the Clintons*. Yet part of the elder Bush’s much ballyhooed “New World Order” was consolidating rule in Washington D.C. into a one party state.

The 1992 Presidential election — the first of the post Cold War era — was simply a contest between the left and right wing of the Deep State over which side would contain control over the nation’s then triumphant military Empire. It irritates many Bush, Clinton and Obama loyalists to hear it but when it comes to foreign policy, each Presidency was essentially a continuation of the one before it: consolidation of that Empire.
