We had a campervan we rented and stayed at a campground just west of town.( Albergo Ponitives). BTW the food their was home cooked and very good. We took the bus into the town. There looked to be really nice hotels in the town. The Cavalino Spa Grand Hotel looked to be top notch and was right in the center of everything.
If you want a really cool place to stay I would recommend finding a spot up on the Alp di Suisi. This is the high mountain meadows where these photos were taken. We hiked the entire day and went from one Inn to the next getting drinks and food. The entire meadows are hiking in the summer time and gentle ski slopes in the winter. You can park in town and take the gondola up. I am sure they also have shuttles up to the hotels. They have horses and other animals grazing and you hike through all of the farms. If you go during the summers you hike up to the different peaks also for a grand view.
