We exploited North Carolina, ran for over 300 against them and passed for almost 100. We turned the ball over at key times. We had injuries to our starting QB and brought in our backup, as well as to a couple of our O-Linemen, throwing our timing off. Also muffed a punt.

Game was close into the fourth quarter until another turnover hit.

VA Tech, early game, again, some turn overs, a lot of penalties (several because refs weren't familiar with the new blocking schemes and called a lot of "chop blocks" and had to be "educated" so less were called during the year). GA Tech led until the last minute or so. VA Tech got some help on their final drive on a questionable penalty against GA Tech that gave VA Tech an extra set of downs. GA Tech still nearly pulled it out. Josh Nesbitt (GA Tech's QB) just missed a second long TD pass to win the game.

Against Virginia, once again, turnovers killed GA Tech. We fumbled inside the VA 20 (twice I believe) and threw an interception inside their 45 within the final 2 minutes of the game.

If GA Tech can hold onto the ball, they have a chance to win.

The other big problem has been with injuries. GA Tech pretty much lost their entire first team offensive line, including the preseason All American, Garner, to injuries. They lost all of their starting LB's, again, ending up playing with reserves, and, finally, they ended up losing all but one starting DB (Morgan Burnett), so they ended the year playing 2 freshmen and 2 sophomores as DB's in the end, causing GA Tech some problems when teams passed against us at the end of the year (i.e. Florida State and UGA).

Considering all of GA Tech's injuries, Paul Johnson did an amazing job keeping the team together with all of the string and chewing gum)...

No way we'd be top 5...but a lot of people are expecting top 10 if we win the bowl game. Media has started to like Paul Johsnon and since the georgie win, we're getting a lot more respect. It will be interesting to see, and even though we only lose 3 starting seniors (5 if you include 2 seniors who've been missing since the 8th game of the year), the ones we lose are all at the same position...D-line. We have a good stock of DE's with another All-American type in Derick Morgan (arguably our best D-lineman now and only a soph.) but we don't have a ton of DTs with experience for next year. Our skill positions actually add a couple of guys and one of those is Anthony Allen who is a stud tranfer from Louisville (had 275 yards rushing against Memphis a couple years ago). I'd still expect the traditional top 10's to be ahead of us, but we may sneak in there if we have a good showing in the peach.

My take is that the Peach Bowl means lots more to the Ga. Tech players than it does to the LSU players, and this will be apparent during the course of the game.

I'm confident that Ga. Tech will play well in all phases of the game.
