It's really hard to write as much as he has and not become a parody of yourself.
And this is a trap he has not successfully avoided.

Agree 100%. The last good one I read was From a Buick 8. The last one read was Dr Sleep which was OK until the predictable but still ridiculous ending. Gave him up after that. I understand 11.22.63 is good, maybe I'll get around to it someday.
His earlier stuff though like The Shining, The Dead Zone, Pet Semetary, IT and esp Salems Lot and The Stand scared the shite out of me, good reads
