You want programs that add to the conference, bring a strong fanbase, and offer a market that you don't have that strong of a hold on - which UNC would do nicely.
Clemson, outside of the last few years, was never anything more than a regional brand.

They're arguably the strongest CFB in the ACC and yes,brands are important when it comes to TV sets watching.
