Google the Kirov wolf attacks. Sure it’s from the 40s-50s if that makes you feel better.

I'm not meaning this is any condescending way or anything because I'm enjoying the conversation, but are you serious? Why in the world would someone in the current day US/Colorado ever think this is even remotely the same type of situation? Disregarding the fact that the worst experience regarding wolves with humans ever was EIGHTY years ago, the place was overrun with wolves. They were in every area there and they were in the forests, streets, and city parks. Of course there were deaths What is going on here is so far from that it's not even worth mentioning.

My only point is that people who think wolves are no threat to humans are wrong. I’d feel better about the whole thing if managed hunting is allowed so as to instill the fear of humans.

My point is that in the past 100 years there is nothing to show that people in the US should have any legitimate fear of wolves. Seriously, it isn't worth worrying about. You, or anyone you know, will ever be attacked by a wolf. That is a fact. The handful of wolves being released isn't going to change that.

If you have livestock, or are a hunter and think that it is going to harm the elk population, that is a different story. I haven't done enough research to even form an opinion either way on that, I'm not going to automatically assume it's good or bad.
