Chester has always projected to center
Has he? I thought he came in as a tackle and was moved to center. Either way, sounds like he's there now for good.

Being tall is also not a disadvantage at center,
Sure it is. But it's one that can be overcome by special athletes. Which apparently they think Chester is.

ust look at how good of a career Ethan Pocic has had
He's an outlier. And it looks like Chester is too.
Out of curiosity, I looked it up. I post the link I found at the bottom. But this guy "took 53-man active rosters for the 2023 season (just after final roster cuts at the end of preseason)" and took an average of the heights and weights of the 46 active Centers across the league."
quote:
The average height of an NFL Center is 75.71 inches (just under 6’3 3/4" tall).
The tallest were 6'6", the shortest was 6'1".
quote:
The average weight of an NFL Center is 308.09 pounds.
Heaviest was 335, the lightest was 293.
quote:
There are a total of 10 guys listed at 6’5" or taller. Out of those 10, only 4 are listed at 6’6".
quote:
In fact, there are 6 Centers 6’2" or shorter on NFL Rosters to start the season in 2023.
So there are 2 more NFL Centers that are 6'1" or 6'2" than there are ones over 6'5". And there are none over 6'6". So that shows there is a disadvantage to being too tall for a Center, simply based on leverage. But there are outliers that overcome that by being special athletes and having strong lower bodies and being very flexible. Like, thankfully, Chester is, according to Lester. And the staff keeping him at Center seems to confirm that.
