Both Hilton and him have a big opportunity for next year but both need to work the Jugs machine all off season.
It's always wise to do this, but that's not the cure for most drops, which are caused by unfamiliarity with the offense. In today's game WRs are having to make decisions during the play. When these are second nature full focus can be on catching the ball. In my opinion drops are caused by three things:
1. Lack of experience/familiarity with the offense
2. Loss of concentration due to wanting to run after the catch.
3. Lack of hand-eye coordination due to lack of talent or lack of practice.
When you see a receiver, such as Lacy, making great catches some times but being plagued by drops on very catchable balls, you can rule out #3. And #3 is really the only one that is affected by using the Jugs.
#1 gets fixed by practicing and watching film. A consistent personnel group helps a lot. And #2 can ONLY be fixed by playing in games enough that the excitement level gets under control. See Brandon LaFell as a great example of a guy who made lots of maddening drops, then went on to a solid Pro career.
