Way more faithful than most other adaptations these days.
His ending was a bit of a cop out. He went the easy route that would appeal more to the non graphic novel readers. But it was still a fantastic movie and overall a pretty faithful adaption.

He missed the entire point of the book and his obsession w/making everything look "cool" robbed it of the source materials soul.
