Happened to me last year. I went to my dentist and he made a mold of my tooth. The oral surgeon will shoot you up with pain meds and extract the tooth with a hammer and chisel, at least in my case he did.
The whole process takes a year to complete. You will need to go back to the oral surgeon thru out the year to check the progress.
A post will be put in to mount the "new" tooth to. Mine's been in several months now and so far, so good.
Good Luck!

I don't know what all you had going on but a root canal and / or crown dental procedures don't take a year start to finish.
also- an endodontist does root canals, but a general dentist can do them as well.
I'd go to an endodontist for sure for a root canal.
If you had to see an actual oral surgeon, then you had to have more than a simple fractured tooth/needing a root canal.

You had an implant, not a root canal.

oh, you had to have a dental implant done.
that makes sense why it took close to a year.

Bro, I think you have some repressed memories of being abducted and tortured.
