Semantics = Study of meaning in language

Heresy = theological or religious opinion or doctrine maintained in opposition, or held to be contrary, to the ‘catholic’ or orthodox doctrine of the Christian Church.

So in that case, semantics matter as the Church from its beginning at Pentecost has anathemized Bishops/Popes holding heretical beliefs/teachings.

There are several dogmas held by Roman Catholicism that Orthodox find to be heretical and therefore, why we are not in communion.

My background is I grew up in a nominal Baptist home, and in my journey to truly know Christ, I attended the whole gamut of Evangelical denominations and it wasn’t till I was sitting on a deer stand in north MS one cold January day in 2019 that I just cried out to GOD to show me His Church I read about in Acts and that He promised the gates of Hell would not prevail against…

He opened my eyes like a newborn and brought me home to Orthodoxy. I pray for His mercy and grace on all my Christian brothers who read this to seek the “fullness of the Faith” in Holy Orthodoxy.
