He’s gonna use the blue blood excuse so let’s give some lower tier team examples. Washington, ATM (under Woody no less), Syracuse, Auburn. All had “violations, some major, and all kept the coach.

his is too much to quote but i'll absolutly say that. none of those programs are LSU and/or were in the same situation as LSU when this happened. if you feel that one was, please share those details.

eta: i love that all of his answers were essentially "frick it, we don't care" or "frick it, someone else doing it".

While everyone wants to portray themselves as taking the moral high ground in any of these discussions the reality is, as a fan, all that matters is wins and losses. How the sausage is made is really irrelevant. A terrific, straight laced guy is going to be fired if he doesn't produce results. A multiple time "offender" is going to be paid extravagantly if he wins. Should it be that way? Probably not. But you are naïve if you don't think it is. And its why guys like John Calipari, Kelvin Sampson, Bruce Pearl, Rick Pitino, etc, are in demand. They win!

There is LOT of money in college basketball. It's not a "scholastic extracurricular". It's a multi-billion dollar entertainment business. And with that kind of business comes high demand for results. No one really cares, unless they are forced to care, how those results are produced...as long as they are produced. Wade was doing what he was doing. The ONLY reason anyone cares is because he was ridiculously unfortunate to be talking to the exact wrong person, at the exact wrong time, during an unprecedented moment in the history of law enforcement. NEVER before, and likely never again, will the FBI/DOJ investigate college basketball recruiting. It's not the (alleged) "cheating" that any one has a problem with. It's the fact he got "caught". Anyone who says otherwise is dishonest and virtue signaling in he highest order.

b/c that is the correct answer.
No one would agrue LSU didn't have cause to fire Wade. They did. The issue is usually a school only follows through with the firing when the coach isn't winning and the fanbase is unhappy anyway. We showed up, after all these allegations started, to that Vandy game when we won the SEC, a sell out crowd, and forced the LSU administration to fire this asshat over our love of the current coach and MBBall program. No fan wanted to fire Wade, we understood the reasoning for it, we just don't give a shite b/c no one else seems to give a shite about the dirty side of college basketball at the other programs that win consistently.
