Hate to say it, but Meryl Streep has pulled off drama, romance, comedy, fantasy, historical period pieces and even musicals. She's played leads and supporting roles, heroines and villains.
I don't recall any horror, sci-fi or action roles tho.

I feel the River Wild can cover for action.
You might have to be a little bit flexible for horror, using either a psychological thriller or a black comedy for it.
Does the Giver count as sci-fi?
