You truly think you are smarter than what you are. If he can learn all the anatomy, physiology, physics, applications etc of MRI in 6 months, it would be happening more often.

You just overvalue yourself. Teachers also require 4 year degrees, it can be done in a year and a half.
I think nurses start locally at $53/hr. If you feel screwed, maybe find a better market.
