I hunted Lake Ramsey last Friday, on my walk back to the truck, I was jumping these birds out the tall grass. Not exactly sure what they were. Tons of them, every step I took, 5-10 more would jump. Didn't look like woodcock, and once the jumped up, they formed a big flock and just circled until I left.

Probably quail. Woodcock are usually by themselves. You may bump 1 or 2 in close proximity but they won’t flock up like quail.
Good to see that’s there’s birds out there. Did you hunt the south side or north side?

Edit: also possibly snipe if they were in the grass and circled around. That’s probably more likely based on your description.
