Yes, this BCS sucks.

Utah, despite being 12-0, still did nothing to merit their selection and lived off of their appearance 4 years ago, as well as Boise State's lucky win two years ago. They did what they could by scheduling Michigan, but you cannot give them credit for scheduling. Their other opponents were vastly overrated also.

Somebody HAD to win the Big East and I suppose Cincy earned it, depite losing badly to U Conn and showing how poor they were last night. Cincinnati is a great example of a team that has nothing to gain, nor lose from going to the Orange Bowl to play...

VA Tech...is there a team out there who everyone else stopped taking seriously or are the Hokies the only one? A terribly medicore year for Beamer's boys, who without Tyrod Taylor, might be at the bottom of their division. By pounding Cincy, they will gain no one's attention. By losing to Cincy, they will be laughed at.

Ohio State is the new Notre Dame. They get an invite for winning ten games and I'm not sure what to be impressed with...the win over Michigan State? They'll play the role of '05 vs. Notre Dame and Texas will play the role of '05 Ohio State. You do the math.

These 4 above SHOULD NOT BE IN THE BCS!!!

My other gripes...matchup issues...

The Rose Bowl got it right and I look forward to watching what I think will be the best game of the BCS bowls.

The Fiesta Bowl will be a huge mismatch ala the last two games Ohio State has played in. Wouldn't the Buckeyes have a better chance against Utah or perhaps the Orange Bowl?

The Sugar had the makings of a great one, had Utah gone to the Fiesta and Texas went to New Orleans. Bama gets rewarded for being the #1 team in the country and having to play an extra game against a team that no one can beat and they now get to play Utah...everything to lose and nothing to gain. UGA had more to gain from wiping out Hawaii last year bcause people wanted to see that happen. Bama beating Utah is nothing earth shattering.

The Orange Bowl is now the longest running joke since the BCS Bowl c'ship game was added into the mix three years ago. Last year's game wasn't nearly as poor as this one, though. It'd be more entertaining to watch two teams from the ACC and Big East who didn't even make it to the c'ship ala Georgia Tech and Pitt. That's at least watchable.

The BCS c'ship got it as right as they could. You could do worse than UF and OU, which has the potential to be a great game, unless of course, OU does what it's done in each of its last 4 BCS bowls. I'll take it though, as opposed to seeing Ohio State or Utah or Ball State sneaking through the back door.

What should be the matchups (using the teams who are in):

BCS c'ship - Same
Orange - Cincinnati vs. Ohio State (battle for Ohio)
Rose - Same
Fiesta - Utah vs. Virginia Tech (The battle for ratings)
Sugar - Alabama vs. Texas (Seriously, how sweet would this have been?)

Who got screwed:

Texas Tech - one loss to the #1 team and you go to the Cotton. LSU was almost bound for the Cotton with 5 losses! Good luck Ole Piss!

Alabama - Already mentioned why...one loss in a conference title game and you have to go west to play a team who you normally would schedule for Homecoming.

The Gator Bowl - Why would you frick yourself like that and invite the most overrated team in America and one of the biggest has beens since 2001?

LSU - We don't do so well against good offenses. Thankfully, we get to play one of the deadliest alive who ran all over a team that ran all over us in uGA.

Independence Bowl - By taking LA Tech, you selectd a fan base that will put all of about 75 dollars into the city, as they depart from the huge church off I-20 at three hours before gametime. Plenty of hotel rooms to go around for anyone who's in town on business that whole week of the game. Northern Illinois' 7 sets of parents and 19 member band should put a decent dent into the casinos before the game.
