My fellow north AL folks, watch for an early line/band of storms this evening prior to the main front passing through.
We don't have quite the shear they have farther North, but we have enough and we have more CAPE. My biggest concern is that we will get just enough of the LLJ to goose that pre-frontal band (if it forms) as it moves into the area. Hodos look favorable for some rotation, especially early. That would be around 5-7pm. Then, the main line will move through with primarily a damaging wind threat and a possible spin-up tornado.
Farther SW, you guys have better CAPE with much less shear and flatter hodographs. It will be a line of storms with wind being the primary threat. There's a chance of large hail early as the line starts to form.

Weird to see this severe weather threat in December. This is more of a March/April type of system.
