Fun fact: the buddy system doesn't actually work. Tried it at Mardi Gras to find my friends and was quickly hit with dozens of non-friend buddy responses

In college I'd yell buddy randomly in bars every now and then, and laugh my arse off when I'd get a virus of buddy yells back.
