They managed to neither get the best four or the most-deserving four. “disturbingly dumb” is well put

I would love to hear this explanation. Texas and Bama are well within reasonable and rational arguments for most deserving and best.

It's quite simple. The top four deserving teams would include Florida State over Texas. FSU went undefeated in a power 5 conference beating two SEC teams in the process. It's impossible to make a legit argument that they didn't deserve it. Texas lost to an inferior opponent (Oklahoma) and struggled with a couple of other teams with losing records. FSU deserves it more than Texas.

As for the four best teams... I welcome anyone to make a solid argument that puts Georgia out of the top four, much less at #6 where they are ranked.

As the other poster said, the committee got neither the four most deserving nor the four best teams.

I didn't say they didn't deserve it. I said there are reasonable and rational arguments for both Texas and Bama to be considered both most deserving and best.

I don't know how it keeps getting ignored that FSU's opponents' cumulative win-loss record was 77-79. That doesn't support having played the most deserving schedule. They didn't play as tough a schedule as Bama and Texas.

Georgia SOS is 37th. Bama beat them, and their Strength of Schedule is 5th. Washington is undefeated with SOS at 9th. Texas beat Bama and their SOS is 13th. FSU SOS is 55th. frick your undefeated record vs those other teams if you are edging out victories against the 55th best schedule.

There is alot of SEC fatigue and Bama hate driving these meltdowns. I hate Bama, but the SEC is getting into the playoffs.
