Another very valid point. For SEC programs outside of Bama, you MUST win the SECCG to be eligible. Bama can lose their most important HOME games annually, sit at home during championship weekend, and still make the final 2 or final 4.

Just wait until there are 12 teams. Programs like Bama will still get in with 3-4 losses. It is going to be a joke.

This was a hangup for me but I realize Bama gets in just about every year anyway

To be fair, Georgia did get in in 2021 despite losing the SECCG, but that's probably because there weren't enough 1-loss P5 champions/G5 undefeateds. Georgia is also a Tier 2 program.
