Some cars you need to be Yoga master to work on stuff under the dash.

Either your brake light switch or the brake light stopper are broken. Normally the stopper pushes the probe back to break electrical contact but if the stopper broke and fell apart the probe is out and allowing current. If the stopper is still there and looks normal it is the switch. If it is the switch you should pay extra to get the one for cruise control unless you never have and never plan on using cruise.

The stopper on my 2001 tundra finally just crumbled into a bunch of pieces last year. Grab a flash light and look at the arm attached to the pedal. Should be obvious if it is the stopper.

The pointy part of that is what looks like is on the floor. Any idea for a name so I can look up a youtube video of changing it?
FYI, they aren't specific to a certain vehicle so you may have to modify it some. I had to use a grinding wheel on my dremel to get it to fit in the hole.

Follow the brake pedal. There will be a small hole at the end of an arm.
Reporting back. This was the issue and the car is fixed.
Thanks guys.
