I would say:

1. Washington: They won't be a contender year in and out, this is more of a lightning in the bottle season for them. Very little threat in recruiting as well.

2. Alabama: They already are what they are, another title doesn't hurt.

3. Michigan: Very close to Alabama, they haven't won a title in awhile but very little recruiting impact. Putting them further down simply because of Underwood.

4. Texas: Worst case scenario, in my opinion (for LSU), is Texas winning a title.

You, good sir, have the right answer. Except, I might put Alabama below Michigan for the recruiting angle as with Texas.
Anything that could hurt LSU’s recruiting would be bad
