I was a CFO of a 2B organization years ago. It was my dream years ago to get a job like that.

The pay for CFOs NEVER aligns with the stress, headaches and heartburn that come with the job. All of the engineers, sales teams and support groups push every single problem to accounting.

Heck - the top quartile of sales guys and gals were making 35% more than me and living a much less stressed life.

Now, if a sales member missed quota in a quarter they were on probation - if they missed it the next quarter, no bonus, miss it a third quarter, you are fired.

So, job stability was a bit better.

I would see sales guys and gals hit huge bonus then be gone by fall the next year. It is ruthless
