Woodward and the A&M board of regents brought in Fisher with a 10yr/$75million deal before the 2018 season.
youre acting as though this was a reasonable and fiscally prudent decision

bought out Sumlin and his staff upwards of $15 million in 2018, while simultaneously hiring Fisher and handing him the richest 100% guaranteed contract in CFB history

turned around and one-upped it with BK’s even more ridiculous deal, on the heels of blowing another $20+ million on the Rosy Finch Boyz

yeah, he’ll find the money - and throw it all in the shitter again

What he did was buy the only title winning coach who was available on the market. Before that point, all A&M had was big talk and cash. It was the first time they actually took that money and made a splash with it.

I know it didn’t work out. Jimbo decided to get stubborn right when college football was shifting. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a smart calculated risk. Let’s roll back the clock a few years. We made Nick Saban a top 10 paid coach when he had never done more than beat Michigan, Penn St, and go to a couple of bowl games at Michigan St. We overpaid big time based on potential and because we were down at the time. We had to overpay to get him. A&M was in the same boat with Jimbo.

After O’s last two years, a big contract with plenty of security was also the only way to land an established coach better than Stoops here. Did you miss the cold shoulder he got from the A&M fanbase?
