Not trying to be rude, but something isn't working. 1st/2nd level support type roles should be entry level type roles, stepping stones so to speak. When I see someone in those roles for years, I immediately think they are slackers.
If you feel you have been ignored, you will probably see the same thing elsewhere. Do some serious analysis of your performance/skills and fix the issues or you will be in the same apot in 10 years

The problem is that my company does not typically promote from within. I cant gain the necessary experience.
