I’ll help. Maurepas swamp wma (the 1100 acre tract located in French Settlement) parking lot on power line off King George Bay Road. Walk SW and first water you encounter will be one mile bayou and past that is palmetto bayou. Just follow either side of either bayou until you find acorns floating and set up there well before LST. I recommend hip boots or waders so you can retrieve your kills, it’s not deep but over knee boots in places. I’ve never been able to get 3 woodies in a morning but have taken 2 numerous mornings. Also recommend an open choke because shots will be close. It’s only 30 minutes from Baton Rouge and we’ll cross paths there eventually. Good luck.

How early would you recommend getting out there to get a decent spot? Should I bring a few decoys? Is it normally full of people? I’m not looking to have my tires slashed by some meth head who thinks I took “his spot” on public land
Thank you for all the info. I look forward to trying it out and hope we cross paths out there one morning.
