We’ve seen this story play out a few different ways in the past.

On one hand you have Matt Flynn, who played sparingly while waiting his turn as a backup for years. In his final season, he became a playmaker, won a NC, and got drafted.

On the other hand, you have guys like Myles Brennan who couldn’t overcome a variety of factors, including injury, to ever become a consistent starter.

The point is, you never know what you have until you let the guys compete and nobody is owed anything because it’s “their turn”. Having more talent on the roster is better than having less.

I trust the coaches to make the right call and the best QB will win the job.

Myles' biggest problem outside injuries was his heart was never in it.

I don't think that's the case with Nuss. He's talked about how much he's worked with Sloan to get better and he also has a connection with the players that it seemed Myles never had.

I think it's a given that Kelly brings an experienced QB in. The question is whether he brings one in for competition and depth or if he gets a player that comes in with the understanding that he will be the starter. If it's the latter then Nuss transfers and we're back to being without an experienced backup.
