I allow myself to be upset for a bit, then I finally say to myself, “frick all that, time to get up and bitch slap life”.
I wish my shite had been that easy. I tried to keep it that easy, but it never worked.
As mentioned, there are so many degrees of anxiety and depression that it's impossible to make apples to apples comparisons using anecdotal experiences. My shite was a nightmare, but I know damn well people have it much worse than I ever did. That's a terrifying thought and I hope those folks are able to find the appropriate treatment.

I had your issues regarding driving in the past. Crazy, use to drive so fast and didn't care. When I started having some issues in my 30s I couldn't drive on interstates or big bridges without feeling like I was gonna pass out, hands clammy, sick, and I just didn't understand why that became an issue all of a sudden. Had a complete anxiety attack in front of my son once on the interstate between Shreveport and Dallas, had to pull over for 5-10 minutes to straighten myself up. I know longer have any of that but it was unbearable for a couple years.
