Loved being in BR for college but left right after graduation. Spent about 3-4 years away and couldn't wait to get back. I missed the game days and being able to go to a mid week baseball or basketball game and being closer to family. I've now lived here 30+ years. I like my job, friends, church, food, LSU sports. However, the mayor and her gang of incompetents has made it even worse to deal with and now that I am planning for retirement, I am looking to get out of the state entirely. Governor elect Landry has stressed that he wants to get people to move back and his theme is "come back home, Louisiana". Curious to see if he actually can get anything done to improve things...but color me skeptical. Still looking for some retirement property in the Ozarks.

found some and we will never move back. Weather, lack of crime and traffic, and some pretty good local stores and restaurants combined with an outfoor lifestyle have us pretty content.
We do travel back often to visit family and friends that still live there though because we miss them terribly. They also enjoy coming visit us because there is a lot to see and do here.
