Josh Reed had a total of 134 yards receiving in his freshman year. Malik Nabers had 417.

What does that matter? For one Josh wasn't even a fulltime WR as a freshman in 99.

And two, he still went on to put up record-setting numbers the next 2 years that have him atop LSU's career marks.

Again, love Malik. Been saying he's the best WR in CFB this year for a while LINK. But don't sell Josh short.

I'm not arguing Nabers is better than Josh Reed. I'm saying if Nabers breaks this record, its his and its valid. There is no asterisk and no need to diminish his accomplishment.

Joe Burrow doesn't have the career passing yards record at LSU, and nobody is going to argue that Tommy Hodson was better than him. Still, that's a record that speaks to Hodson's longevity here.
