I'm not making excuses for the man, but a CFP hangover, two major assistants leaving, a divorce, a major portion of the roster getting drafted, and then covid, that dude never stood a chance.

He promised us the very best assistants he could find and then hired a DC who was over the hill and not even doing well at a small college. All this and he was too busy partying to even do a face to face interview.
He is the one who filed for divorce within a month of winning the championship. It didn't seem to break his heart as he was with the blonde immediately. Everyone knew all the good players were getting drafted so why wasn't he getting the backups ready to play and planning his recruitment strategy for replacements. Why didn't we have the top recruiting class in the country after all the publicity for the best team ever?
