Seattle would be good. You can see a baseball game, go to Pike Street Market, and go to the top of the Space Needle all in one day.
Then you can take a ferry to Victoria, go to Rainier, or go to Vancouver. You can do the city, baseball, hike in the mountains, and get your Canada experience in.
FWIW, Victoria is where I would go if going to BC for one day.
