Overshifting offenses work great against defenses that rely on man coverage. The LBs and DBs have to make sure to ID their man every time someone moves, or move with them. With high school and college kids this could lead to confusion. But in the NFL motions don’t work like that. Motions are for IDing man coverage and/or realigning players to gain numbers or leverage. It has nothing to do with confusing defenses with motion and shifts because you can’t. And if defenses are playing zone, like many do, then all that shifting simply wasted time.
