According to the pay sites, he was Kelly’s first call when Cain left and it didn’t happen. He isn’t leaving the gig he has just because he went here.
Unless Davis wants to be a DC and we offer him that, he evidently isn’t interested. And I’m not sure a first-time DC can be the hire in the shape we’re currently in.
