Find a good therapist, and talk to your son everyday about how he's feeling, no matter how hard it might be for him. Getting his feelings out is therapeutic and will reduce the risk that he thinks of suicide.

One of the guys in my unit that was in Baghdad w/me had undiagnosed PTSD. Ended up killing himself a week before XMas in 2017, leaving behind a gf and 2 kids. None of us knew. He always had a happy go-lucky disposition but that obviously was a mask to what was really going on.

So please make sure that your son gets help and that it doesn't make him weak for seeking it out.

I will say a prayer for him
