I really don't know much about bow hunting, more of a fisherman. But that's what my son has decided he wants for Christmas.

Would like to get one that grows with him he could use until he either gets out of it or decides to drop some real money of his own on one.

Was looking at the Diamond Infinite Edge 305. LINK

Diamond Infinite 305 7-70lbs Right Hand Mossy Oak Breakup Country Compound Bow - Octane Package - Maximum performance and ease of adjustability, not to mention killer looks. It’s all in the new Infinite 305 at a price tag you wouldn’t expect. Engineered for any hunting situation, in any environment, or backyard recreational use. The huge draw length range of 12 inches (19-31) and 63 pounds of draw weight is quickly and easily adjusted without the need of a bow press. With the Infinite 305, the opportunities are endless.

Unsurpassed Versatility
Easy Adjustments
Superior Riser Design
Fully Equipped With: Furnace Quiver, Stryker 3-Pin Sight, Octagon Brush Rest, Boost Stabilizer

Any other recs on a decent one he could grow with?

He's about 5'4 and works out, I'm thinking he could probably handle around 40 pounds now and definitely could with some practice, etc.

Thanks

Eta: there is a good archery place in Huntsville, I plan to take him there to see what he likes/is offered. BUt just curious what folks on here suggested as well.

Ended up going with the Diamond Edge 320.

Was on sale on sportsman's warehouse and with coupons got ifor 330 after tax.

Seemed like couldn't really couldn't go wrong with a Bear legit or Diamond. And the Diamonds seem to have some better reviews and were about 70 dollars cheaper with the sales.

I started the last thread about buying my 14 year old a bow. i went with the diamond edge as well. he wont shoot it until after christmas but from it seems like a great bow.

Yeah for a starter bow and one you can grow with it seemed like a good choice.

Did you get a release yet? Or Arrows.

Still have to pick those out. Thought I might order a few different releases for him to try on Amazon with free returns or take him to that archery store and let him try some there.
