I don’t care if I get a thank you note. Actually I’d rather not get one so the person sending it isn’t wasting money on stationary and postage thats going into the trash anyway

I cannot care less if someone sends me a thank you card. The fact that it’s expected kind of defeats the entire purpose of showing gratitude.

For a wedding like OP describes the person sending the notes are in more of a factory worker mentality to try to get them out because “that’s what you are supposed to do”.
