It’s also due to Pharmacy Benefits Managers robbing pharmacies as well.
In fact the PBMs are worse than the looters.
Additionally, over zealous DEA policies are killing the brown poors fast.

The fact that pharmaceutical middlemen are taking advantage of the situation should surprise no one since the prescription drug “market” is a government-sanctioned monopoly in every respect. The FTC overlooking such fraud is akin to the Mexican Cartels investigating street dealers for skimming profits off the top.

We can thank the Unaffordable Care Act. Rural pharmacy deserts started becoming a problem a few years later.
