To be fair, this is the first year with the new maps. They’re incredibly even. Republicans actually gained 1 seat in the senate but that got lost in the shuffle.
ETA: I am worried about 2025 though. We will definitely need to flip the house or senate as I think a democrat governor is inevitable.

Virginia is a blue state, primarily because of the D.C. metro area which makes up about 30% of likely voters in that state.
