Bears would have absolutely gone for it on 4th and 2 and probably gotten it. I agree that you push them back, hope to hold them and force a FG.

They would not have gone for it. That was made obvious later when they sent to FG unit on when they thought they did not get the 1st down a play later after the penalty.

Maybe. But there's value in the opportunity to turn them away with zero points if they do try and go or it. Plus, even if they convert, they still may end up kicking a FG.

I thought that was a bad call that had very little upside and a lot of downside.
