It’s really simple
You either want to participate in Halloween or you don’t

What’s sadder, is when no one shows up in your neighborhood anymore

True that. We used to get them coming in by the carload. Not a soul for several years now. Bought a $20 bag of the good stuff at Costco, and donated it to the local group hosting a party for the neighborhood kids. It’s probably safer for them to all gather in one place for the food, games, and treats, but I miss the tradition of trick or treating. Heck, I even miss the parents begging an extra piece of candy for the “child who’s sick at home.”
